Yesterday the thermometer showed 93°F in Grand Rapids, squeaking out the previous record of 92°F on September 21st, 1908. And if the heat wave continues like predicted, we are on pace to break records all weekend!

Today the forecast calls for the temp to peak out at a whopping 95°F, and if that happens we will break today's record of 90°F set in 1920.  Saturday's record high is 90°F (set in 1937), and Sunday's is 91°F (set in 2007). Both of those records could get topped.

Just to put this heat wave into perspective, the average temperature for this time of year ranges around 68°F - 70°F.  So be sure to be careful not to over exert yourself this weekend, especially if you're downtown for ArtPrize!
