Chances are pretty good that either you or someone you knew attended Camp Blodgett, either as a camper or as a counselor.

In its 90-year history in West Michigan, Camp Blodgett has helped kids in the area grow academically in socially, not only through its summer camp and academy, but with programs that now run year round.

Camp Blodgett summer programs aimed at children ages 8 through 13 are soon to get under way, with themed sessions like "Animal Planet Week" and "Super Heroes Week", keeping children academically on point during their break from school.

But it's more than just swimming, hiking, camp fires and summer fun. Camp Blodgett raised the bar a few years back by starting its Summer Academy, which challenges selected fifth through eighth grade students even farther by adding in a high quality academic experience which includes the language arts and math.

Camp Blodgett also will once again host their Sunset Summer Concert Series beginning June 7 on the deck of the Loeks Retreat Center at the camp. The shows are free, and the gates open at 6:00pm, with the music getting underway at 7:30pm. Enjoy incredible music as you bask in the glow of some glorious West Michigan sunsets. Come early and bring a picnic supper and your favorite beverage.
