Some West Michigan schools are letting out early Tuesday because of the heat.

With record setting temperatures over Memorial Day Weekend, temperatures remain in the mid 80s to low 90s today across West Michigan.

According to Fox 17, the following schools are dismissing early this afternoon:

  • Hope Academy of West Michigan, dismissing at noon
  • Ionia Public Schools
    • Ionia High School, Ionia Middle School, Douglas R Welch Elementary and Rather Elementary, dismissing at 11:15 a.m.
    • Boyce, Emerson, Jefferson and Twin Rivers, dismissing at 12:15 p.m.

Fox 17 reports that after today we should get a break from the heat, with rain moving in Wednesday and Thursday. This weekend should be more comfortable, with highs in the mid 70s.
