While MSU and UM struggle to put up points, WMU and CMU have no problem scoring touchdowns.

For the third straight year, Western Michigan has won the Victory Cannon, defeating Central 52-44 in a free wheeling game in Mount Pleasant, which went up and down like a roller coaster.

Central jumped out to a 14-0 lead, thanks in part to a Western turnover, only to have the Broncos return the favor by scoring 38 unanswered points.

The teams then traded touchdowns for a while, before CMU's Chippewas scored the games last 14 points to pull within eight. Their last chance to win went up in smoke when they failed to haul in an onside kick with two minutes left.

Western is now averaging over 50 points a game, and they're not even the highest team in the MAC! Kent State is averaging 54 points a game after putting 69 up last night against Akron.
