Last week I wrote an article on what $15,000 buys you in USED CARS and have to say it was impressive. There were several cars offered around town that I would have bought last weekend. Even one of my co-workers liked last week's list of USED CARS.

Well Summer is not over YET! There is still time to enjoy your West Michigan Life on the Water. So this week let's take a look at what you can get for $15,000. I'm going to highlight several different boat styles from cabin cruisers, pontoons and maybe even a sailboat.

Last week we used Auto Trader as our search engine, this week it's on to Boat Trader. And remember I'm not being compensated by Auto or Boat Trader - they are both good apps.

First up at the Top of our budget of $15k:

1988 Four Winns 261 Liberator - $15,000: Being offered by Gull Lake Marine in Coopersville. This is a really clean boat for a 1998. Dual console with twin V-8 power. And triple-axel steel trailer. This boat looks like it moves. Advertised payments of $79 but that's a 20 year loan with an interest rate of 4.99%. You might be paying off your home quicker than a boat loan.

1971 Columbia 34 Mark II - $12,000: Being offered by Pop Yachts and located in Hamilton, MI. I'm a power boater, but there's nothing better than hearing the wind in your sails while cruising on the lake. This SLOOP-class sailboat is is great condition for a 1971 and is powered by a Palmer P-60 motor. Boat comes with 60-day Sea Tow for peace of mind on the water.

1989 SEA-RAY SUNDANCER 280 - $14,900: Offered by Lake Shore Yacht Sales of Muskegon. While Sea-Ray makes SUNDANCERS all the way up to 63 feet, this 28 footer is a great boat to cruise on Lake Michigan. You may see more Sea-Ray Sundancer on the water than any other boat. Boat powered by Twin-Gas powered Mercruiser 5.7 Litre motors.

2018 GE EAGLE 17' SPORTSMAN - $12,899: Being offered by Lakeside Motor Sports of Mecosta, MI (by Big Rapids). Before we got to a Pontoon, thought I'd show you a Fishing-Bass Boat. This boat although a 2018 is a new boat. Comes with Lowrance depth finder and Minn Kota Trolling Motor. Boat on-line doesn't not have a motor and looking up the specs is rated for up to 90 HP. So this may only be an option in our budget if your upgrading to a new hull and swapping out your 60 HP to 90 HP from an older boat.

2003 Playbuoy 180 TROPIC SE - $11,977: And our last boat is a 18 foot Pontoon also being offered by Gull Lake Marine in Coopersville. This is powered by 2003 Johnson 40 HP 2-stroke motor. Pontoon boats are a lot of fun, you really can't beat them up. And there steady when entertaining. Add an electric trolling motor and you can go fish the shallow water too.

Boats were available for sale at press time and may have been sold by the time you read this. I've had that happen for every used car I'm looking to buy. Good used boats are going fast as is our Michigan Summer. If you see one is stock that you like - buy it!
