The weird roller coaster ride that has been Winter 2019 is going to cool its jets for awhile, so get out this weekend and enjoy yourself.

If the recent spate of bad weather has given you a little cabin fever, the National Weather Service says this weekend will give us a respite from the snow and chill that's been laying us low.

And it's a three day weekend for some people (I have honestly NEVER gotten President's Day off) so you get an extra day of fun.

Friday will bring a cold wind and some random snow showers, but no accumulation. Saturday will be the best day, with mostly sunny skies and temps in the high 20s. Watch out, because those winds will still be pretty brisk. Sunday will be cloudy with a a chance of flurries late in the day.

Lots to do around town this weekend as well. The World of Winter, one of the state's largest ice festivals will continue downtown through Sunday, featuring the live Hungry Hungry Hippos game on the Rosa Parks Circle ice Sunday afternoon, which is a must see.

Also going on this weekend is the Valent-ICE ice sculpture exhibition with over 50 ice sculptures set up downtown.

Just don't look to far ahead, because snow is back on tap for Wednesday.
