A teacher in Wyoming is facing a 13-day suspension after Tweeting about one of her students.

What did the tweet say?

“I’m sure the girl who is taking my economics class for the second time will make an excellent mom come December. #sarcasm.”

Since the story broke, the teacher's Twitter account has been deactivated.

Wyoming Public Schools Superintendent Thomas Reeder told WOOD-TV that a student had alerted administration on Tuesday. After a one-day investigation it was concluded that the teacher would face a 13-day suspension with no pay.

According to Reeder, the teacher did express remorse for the tweet, and asked what she could do to make the situation better.

Reeder compared teachers to a medical doctor or a lawyer, saying that teachers are held to a different standard and are privileged to have access to information.
