Angela Lansbury has joined the cast of the upcoming movie Mary Poppins Returns, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The iconic actress will play the role of Balloon Lady, a character introduced in the novel Mary Poppins Comes Back, which is the second installment in P.L. Travers’s series.

The film — which will also star Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and Colin Firth — acts as a sequel to the original movie and takes places two decades after the first film. In it, the magical nanny returns to help the children-turned-adults she cared for 20 years earlier.

Entertainment Weekly further reports that rumors Lansbury had been cast in Marry Poppins Returns first started when Dick Van Dyke mistakenly let the news slip.

Lansbury’s casting marks the actress's return to Disney. She previously voiced Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast and starred in Bedknobs in Broomsticks.

Other cast members include William Wilkins, Julie Walters, Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh and Joel Dawson.

Rob Marshall is set to direct Marry Poppins Returns and it’ll be produced by Marc Platt, John DeLuca and Marshall. It’s set for a December 25, 2018, release date.
