Bono has landed on top the list of today’s richest pop stars but he didn’t get there because of his singing, but because of his smart investing.

The U2 frontman reportedly made over one-point-four billion dollars from his two-point-three percent share in Facebook, which he bought in 2009 for $86-million.

Facebook, has made of a bit of splash in the social media scene, you could say, as it became the first web site to have one billion visitors in one day last week.

Bono has now made more from Facebook in the last six years than he has in his ENTIRE CAREER being in U2.

And that's AFTER it was announced that he lost millions of dollars investing in an ethical clothing line with his wife, Ali.

Bono’s riches enabled him to overtake perpetual richest pop star Sir Paul McCartney, whose earnings come out to about one-point-one million dollars, while Madonna is in third with a measly $800 million.
