Amway Family Fireworks Primer

The Amway Family Fireworks are Saturday at Ah-Nab-Awen Park next to Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum and the Grand Rapids Public Museum along the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids.

Activities, including music, entertainment, food, family-friendly fun and more, run from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m., with the fireworks going off at 10:30 p.m.

Michigan Battling West Nile Virus, Avian Flu and Chronic Wasting Disease

Michigan's first cases of avian flu and West Nile virus were confirmed in early June. Chronic wasting disease was discovered in free-ranging deer in Michigan at the end of May.

Pregnant Woman & Unborn Child Murdered in Muskegon

Police in Muskegon Township are currently investigating the murder of a 21-year-old pregnant woman.

Just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to Quail Meadows Apartments for a medical emergency. When officers arrived, they found a male resident who directed them inside a home. Inside, they found the woman, Dominique LaShay Oneal, dead.
