Aurora Borealis Lights Up West Michigan Skies [Video/Photos]

A coronal emission from the sun set off an Aurora Borealis light display seen over most of the northern tier of the United States -- including Michigan -- late last night into this morning.

I feel awful because I failed to get up early like I had planned to view the light show. Thankfully, many in West Michigan packed a camera and shared their beautiful photos on social media.

St. Patrick’s Night Skies Might Get Green Tint from Northern Lights [Infographic/Photos]

NASA is reporting that a coronal mass ejection -- it sounds messy, but it's not -- will give Michigan residents a pretty good shot at seeing the Aurora Borealis light up the northern skies tonight, capping St. Patrick's Day with a green light show this evening.

A thunderstorm with 86-mile-per-hour winds hit near Australia’s outdoor Hanging Rock venue in Victoria where the band was playing. The Eagles were in the middle of their third song when the stage began to shake, and a screen came loose and swung over the crowd.

Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore LOVES Thundersnow [Video]

I admire Jim Cantore. For years, Jim has been the calm in the eye of the storm, reporting on The Weather Channel from the eye of hurricanes, and from the deepest, most severe blizzards. Never once wavering, he was the voice of reason in a world of overhyped weather prognosticators.
