I hope not! I always have fun when I get to go play some penny slots and enjoy a nice dinner. But the man who has opposed the casino since before it was even built is getting his day in court. Again.

David Patchak is getting his chance to bring a lawsuit up against the US Government claiming they "shouldn’t have taken the land (the casino was built on) into trust; this allowed the casino to be built. The case started before construction began on the casino itself. Patchak lives near the casino site, and has fought the development from the beginning. Patchak’s original lawsuit was dismissed, but was reinstated by a federal appeals court after construction had begin on the Gun Lake Casino."

According to WOOD TV8 "Lawyers from all sides will meet in DC Federal District Court for a status conference on the case. No word on why the case has been in limbo for several years, but more should be known about where things are going after Thursday’s hearing."

The casino has done well for the City of Wayland and for the tribe. Foe their sake I hope it doesn't happen. I will keep you posted.
