Grandwich, the annual quest to find a new and unique sandwich for Grand Rapids is up and running.

Among this year's offerings: a Cuban pork sandwich named after a TV character and something I've never heard of before called 'pulled bacon'.

This year's competition features offerings from 26 different restaurants, some stressing local ingredients, like the Bulls Head Tavern's 'Pulled Bacon Double Dutch Crunch', which boasts products from five different area farms, while others play around with local landmarks, like Vault Express Cafe's 'Calder City Club'.

Most entries have nothing to do with local flavor, instead demonstrating their restaurants mastery of regional cuisine like McFadden's 'N'awlins Sandwich' and CitySen Lounge's 'Ricky Ricardo' which pays homage to the TV character's Cuban roots.

It's a wide open, mouth watering competition and you can check out all the entries here.

You can also vote on your favorite sandwich on the Grandwich home site, or follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The competition ends July 31.
