For all practical purposes, Jerry Lewis got fired from the MDA. When the release from the charity said "The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) announces Jerry Lewis has completed his run as its national chairman. In May, Lewis and MDA announced his retirement as host of the MDA Labor Day Telethon. MDA Chairman of the Board of Directors, R. Rodney Howell, M.D., said, 'We will not be replacing (Lewis) as MDA national chairman, and he will not be appearing on the Telethon.'” you dont have to be a scholar to read between the lines.

He was already retiring after this upcoming telethon. For the first time in 45 years he won't be on TV this Labor Day weekend. And the telethon is being shortened to 6 hours, down from 20. See what happens when the US' "Sterling Credit Rating" is downgraded?
