Traverse City resident Joshua Davis held on to make the final round on the TV singing competition The Voice.

Davis sweated out hearing Sawyer Fredericks' and Meghan Linsey's names being called out in front of his as host Carson Daly told the audience which contestants had accumulated enough votes from the audience to advance to the final round.

After the remaining females (Linsey, Carney and Koryn Hawthorne) performed Journey's 'Faithfully', Daly told Carney she would have to perform in the tense Live Save portion of the show.

Only after Davis did his duet with Fredericks of Dobie Gray's classic 'Drift Away' (see the video below) did he learn that he earned enough votes not to have to compete in the Live Save segment.

Davis will now compete in next week's finale for the title of The Voice Season 8. The performance show will air Monday night at 8pm on WOOD-TV 8.

Watch Joshua perform Bonnie Raitt's 'I Can't Make You Love Me' from this week's performance show Monday.
