Neil Young is hitting the road, and he's bringing Willie Nelson’s sons with him. Young and Promises of Real, consisting of Willie’s sons Lukas and Mikah, will hit the road with a tour that kicks off July 5th at Milwaukee’s Summerfest.

The "Rebel Content" tour in total will hit 11 cities, including suburban Detroit, mostly playing outdoor amphitheaters. The trek is so far set to wrap July 24th in Ontario, Canada.

Meanwhile, last Thursday Young and Promises of Real performed a surprise show at the SLO Brewing Company in San Luis Obispo, California, where they tested out the new material from their upcoming album. In addition to nine new songs, they also performed some Young classics including “Down By The River,” “Walk On,” “Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere,” “Love and Only Love,” and the set closer “Roll Another Number.”

The tour makes a Michigan stop at Clarkston's DTE Energy theater on July 14.
