New List Of ‘Timeless’ Songs Includes Journey, Bon Jovi And Eminem [Video]
When you think of timeless songs, you probably think of classics from The Beatles, Elvis Presley, or maybe Frank Sinatra, but a new list suggests you should be considering artists like Eminem, Nirvana and even Journey.
Matthew Daniels, an editor at Polygraph, compared Billboard charts from 1950-2005 and Spotify’s play count to come up with what he calls the Top Ten most timeless list, and believe it or not, Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” is at number one. Coming in at number two is The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” followed by Linkin Park’s “Numb,” Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” and Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
Of course many people will argue that charts don’t exactly translate into timelessness, and considering Spotify’s users tend to be young, to call this a definitive list would be a stretch. What do you think?
