Prince was a ground breaking musician in a lot of ways, most notably, taking control of his songs, and selling them on his web site, but Prince never got the point of social media, and his Royal Purpleness never really liked to mingle with masses.

So he's dropped his Twitter and Facebook accounts, which really isn't a big deal, but his You Tube account? That had some good jams on it!!

Less than two months after launching an official Facebook page, The Purple One has disappeared mysteriously from social media. With no fanfare or explanation, he has deleted that Facebook page and a @3rdEyeGirl Twitter band account that launched in 2013, as well as all the videos from his official YouTube channel.

Apparently, though, Prince's dissatisfaction with the online world doesn't stretch to streaming services. His two recent releases continue to stream on Spotify, as do earlier albums.

Billboard says that Prince released more albums than he had social media interactions in the short time he was on Twitter and Facebook, and earlier he asked for questions to answer, and then only responded to one.

Of course, if you actually did follow Prince, you know it was probably for the best that he left it alone.
