Remember Betamax?

Today is Betamax Day! On this day in '75, Sony gave us the first personal videocassette recorder. YES! Ah those were the days!

It sold for a grand but quickly disappeared after consumers chose the VHS-format. VHS was subpar quality, but it was cheaper, and could hold more recording space. I always wonder what happened to all of those old VHS tapes? I still have two VCR's at home, and occasionally, I still use them. How else am I suppose to watch Airplane 2? What was your first movie on Video? Remember?
