I’m counting down the days until our Summer Craft Beer Festival July 19 at John Ball Park!

I recently made a trip over to Sietsema’s Orchard, who are bringing their cider to the festival (yes, craft beer includes cider, too!)

None of my friends are fans of cider and I don’t know why. It’s a nice way to change things up and it’s gluten free if you’re into that sort of thing.

I like ciders because, unlike beers that can get very dark and heavy, ciders are light and crisp. They are perfect for a HOT summer day!

Andy Sietsema let me sample his ciders at their location in Ada. And not only did I drink, but I learned a little something too!

I was under the impression that all ciders were sweet, but Andy says that’s not always the case.

However, his sweet Red Label cider is their best seller- no surprise there!

My favorite of the Sietsema ciders that I tried was their Hopped Cider, which is made with locally-grown hops.

I also sampled a bourbon barrel-aged cider, a lemongrass cider, their traditional Yellow Label cider and sweet Red Label.

Find out how I ranked my favorite Sietsema Hard Ciders in this video!!
