Way back in 2012 (or at least it feels way back), Netflix and Disney struck a deal for all of Disney’s movies — including Marvel, Pixar and Lucasfilm — to stream exclusively on Netflix Instant. According to the terms of their agreement, the deal wouldn’t kick in until 2016, which just so happens to be the year in which we are currently living. As announced today, Netflix will officially begin streaming Disney films in September, but that doesn’t mean the studio’s entire library will magically appear in your Instant browser.
Disney is really doubling down on its growing live-action reboot / remake empire, claiming five more release dates for its upcoming projects and officially confirming several previously reported films, including The Jungle Book 2, Maleficent 2, Tim Burton’s Dumbo and more. The studio now has a total of seven release dates set for various live-action projects, and though they have yet to formally attach specific titles to these dates, reports suggest that at least one of the new dates belongs to The Jungle Book sequel.
You can’t keep a good brand down. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the very first animated feature by Walt Disney (or anyone else, for that matter). In recent years, Disney has made sequels to just about all of its animated classics, but not Snow White. Still, for a 75 year old movie, the Snow White name maintains some serious cache, as a member of the roster of lucrative Disney Princess, and as the anchor of various amusement park rides throughout the Disney empire. And with the trend toward live-action adaptations of those princesses’ old movies (Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Maleficent) it was only a matter of time before someone tried to do the same with Snow White.
Zootopia was the number one movie again this week. This couple really like the movie, so they went to Disney World's shopping area Downtown Disney (ahem, I mean Disney Springs) on a hunt for merchandise.
Time, it seems, is not on the Mad Hatter's side. Hopefully Alice come up with a plan that goes off like clockwork. I kept watching for the White Rabbit. ... ... okay I'm done. I guess this preview shows that Alice is back in Wonderland and needs to time travel...
My wife and I are big Disney fans. So, there was no debate, we went to see the movie 'Inside Out' when it was released early this year. What we didn't expect was to feel so many feelings in a movie that was about feelings.
