Oscar Taveras is a 19-year-old outfielder in the St Louis Cardinals minor league system. And a good one, too. He had a .386 batting average with eight homers and 62 RBIs at Single-A Quad Cities (who the Whitecaps play) last season. That performance led Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus to rank him as the second-best Cardinals prospect, worthy of five stars and a spot just behind pitcher Shelby Miller. He should be pretty well known to anyone who follows the Cards.
