A major construction project on 28th Street has begun. The project is not expected to be done until November 22.

June 11, 2012 Sad news over the weekend from Kentwood. Former Mayor Richard Root passed away on Friday night after a long battle with melanoma. Root was diagnosed over three years ago, and just had stepped down as Mayor this past week. The new mayor of Kentwood, Richard Clanton, was sworn into office Tuesday.
April 10, 2012 I told you a couple of weeks ago about Tommee and Angela Profitt of Kentwood who made a parody of LMAFO's "I'm Sexy and I Know It" called "I'm Pregnant and I Know It". It made it on to the "Today" show, and was seen all over the country. At last check the You Tube Video has over 1 million hits! And now there's more reason to celebrate!
