Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have released some new music in advance of their new album.  I'm not sure how I feel about it, see what you think.

Also, tickets are on sale now for their only Michigan appearance.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers have released their first single off their new album via Rolling Stone. "American Dream Plan B," which is from his off his new "Hypnotic Eye" record.  "Hypnotic Eye’ will be released July 29th, but those who pre-order the record on Amazon or iTunes beginning Tuesday will be able to download five of its tracks immediately.

Here's a little taste of "American Dream Plan B". Let me know what you think. It's different.

In other Petty related news, a few weeks back, they announced an extensive tour that included dates in Lincoln, Nebraska and Kansas City, Missouri. Unfortunately for fans in those areas, the Lincoln and Kansas City dates have been canceled with refunds available for ticketholders at the point of purchase.

However, there is good news for those looking to see the band in Colorado and Michigan. According to Petty's website,  he will return to the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on September 30th and October 1st . In addition, the band has added a performance at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI on August 24. Tickets for the Red Rocks shows go up for sale on June 20th, while tickets for the Detroit-area stop go on sale June 13th.
