Gratitude Growing is a West Michigan charity that honors seniors for their contributions to our lives.

"It's about who they are and how their lives have contributed to ours."  says Little John Behan, founder of the group.

According to Gratitude Growing's web site:

The direct application and public expression of gratitude carries a profound impact on those people who've spent a lifetime contributing work, family and commerce to our society. And perhaps no other group of people within our culture has earned our gratitude more than they.

Among the many ways they demonstrate their gratitude for the people who are more 'survivors' than 'seniors' is with the Gratitude Blast, where they show up and honor a older person who has made an impact on the world around them.

Here's an example of one they did for local resident James Stockton.

To find out how you can help, either as a volunteer or contributor, visit their web page at gratitudegrowing.org, and also learn how you can nominate deserving seniors in your life.

The more we express gratitude, the more we become a 'people of gratitude'. We're making grateful people.
