A West Michigan mother of two, who along with her husband was fighting cancer, has passed away.

Shelby Offrink passed away on Sunday, June 28 at the age of 31.

Offrink had been battling stage four glioblastoma, a rare and an incurable form of cancer in her spine and brain.

She was diagnosed shortly after giving birth to her second daughter, Hazel, who is 18 months old. Offrink and her husband Ben also had an older daughter, Maeve, who is 4.

Ben is also fighting cancer. He's battling Hodgkins lymphoma for the third time.

Ben Offrink is currently undergoing experimental chemotherapy treatment - hoping to go into remission so he can undergo a bone marrow transplant.

Both Offrinks grew up in the Lowell area.

Friends and family of the couple have created a YouCaring.com page, and have so far raised more than $180,000.
