Derby Station Closes Abruptly After 10 Years Of Business
Fox 17 reports that Derby Station on Wealthy, in the Gaslight Village of East Grand Rapids, has suddenly closed for good.
A sign on the door reads
Derby Station will be closed for business as of 7/3/2019
We appreciate all the patronage over the past 10+ years but felt it was time to move on and let others take part in this vibrant community.
Fox 17 spoke to an employee who told them, the employees found out Tuesday, July 2nd, the business was being evicted from its current location at 2337 Wealthy St.
The employee also told Fox 17 the closure was quite devastating to the employees and patrons and that the owner had fallen on some financial hard times, but she was optimistic Derby Station would come back.
The sign makes it sound like the owner’s done, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for what happens to that space. Also, hope the employees are able to find a new home quickly!
