Imagine having a slick GPS installed on your bike (that's thief proof).

As a new guy to Grand Rapids, I can only compare how things are different here than where I'm from. The thing that stands out the most to me is the number of people on bikes.

I don't know if it's my town doesn't have the infrastructure set up (bike lanes), or if it's because it's so dang hot. The average high for August in Shreveport is 93.4, here 79.7.

All I know is I was shocked when I saw you could rent bikes in downtown Grand Rapids and that some of my coworkers ride bikes to work everyday.

So, I think it's safe to say that if this bike GPS, called SmartHalo, takes off you'll be seeing them all over Brew City soon.

The thing is, SmartHalo is not *really* a GPS unit. It's a device that you connect to your bike that connects to your cellphone's GPS.

So, if I'm understanding the technology correctly. This doodad, that you put on your bike, communicates with your phone, and uses a bunch of LEDs that light up effectively telling you to turn right, turn Left, or turn around. It also has an antitheft device and an auto on headlight.

Seems pretty cool, I think.... Anyway, here's the video.
