Joan Rivers was remembered just the way she wanted it – a showbiz affair with lights, cameras, and action. And by many accounts, her farewell was as bawdy as she ever was.

According to E! Online, the service, which was held at Temple Emanu-El in New York City, was conducted by Rabbi Joshua Davidson (who didn't ramble, as per her request) and punctuated by performances by Hugh Jackman and Audra McDonald (a nod to her love of Broadway), the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus (understandable considering her devotion to the gay community), and the New York City Police Department Emerald Society bagpipers and drummers (because girlfriend wanted pomp and circumstance).

At least 40 celebrities joined Joan’s family and friends as the mourned the comedy legend with tears, humor, and much emotion. Howard Stern eulogized his hero with jokes, while her daughter, Melissa, read a sweet letter to her mother. Other speakers included Deborah Norville and Cindy Adams. There was also one last standing ovation for Rivers – whose body was reportedly cremated on Saturday and set for internment at the famed Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles.
