U2’s Bono Hitchhikes In Canada, Gets Picked Up By Hockey Player
Of all professional athletes, hockey players are said to be the nicest, least egotistical, and generally the most gracious. U2's Bono now can agree with all of those statements.
Bono was in Vancouver, taking a walk, when the rains came. And as to be expected, Edmonton Oilers center Gilbert Brule and his girlfriend were taking their dog to the park when they saw the famous musician walking in the rain. So they picked him up and gave him a lift.
After that, Bono gave Brule and his chick backstage passes to the show in Edmonton. So Brule did what any fan would do--sold his tickets to the Stanley Cup Final game in Vancouver and went to the show...with his mom.
