Bob Seger is making a strong showing with his new album. Billboard.com says "Ride Out" is starting its run on the Billboard 200 at number three, which is the highest chart debut of his career.

It's also his highest charting album in nearly 30 years, and his tenth top 10 album of his long, illustrious career. His last top five album was "Like A Rock," which peaked at number three back in 1986. Seger has only had one album do better. "Against The Wind" topped the Billboard 200 in May 1980, after a two-month chart climb. "Ride Out" is the rocker's first studio release in eight years, following "Face The Promise," which opened at number four following its arrival 2006.

It's a busy time for Mr. Seger, he is slated to start a huge tour soon, which includes a stop at Grand Rapids' Van Andel Arena in December, and he will appear with country star Jason Aldean on the CMT "Crossroads" show on November 28.

Here's a peek at a song from "Ride Out" called "Detroit Made", which is getting some flack from Flint residents, who will be the first to tell you that the Buick car he sings about in the song, the Electra 225 (Deuce and a Quarter) was not "Detroit Made", but manufactured in Flint.

Who cares? This song rocks old school Seger-style!
