Last week we told you about how the Scrabble dictionary made idiotic words like 'lolz' and 'ridic' acceptable for the game, and now it seems the Merriam-Webster dictionary is embracing some new vocabulary as well.

The popular dictionary has announced they’ve added 1,700 new entries, including WTF (that’s right, the abbreviation for “what the f**k”), clickbait, photobomb, meme, jegging and emoji. Even the term “Colossal Squid” made the dictionary, which is basically a big squid found in the Southern Ocean.

"Some of the new entries are for terms you've heard of and some likely aren't," wrote the dictionary's editors. "We thought we'd offer you a sampling of both."

But those aren’t the only updates the dictionary made. Two hundred entries have now qualified as most looked up words, while 700 new senses have been added, and there is now 3,200 more examples to provide contextual information.

I would love to see the example they use for WTF.  As your Mom thinks it means, "Well, That's Fantastic!" Because, we all know how hard it is to teach your Mom internet slang.
