Jojo’s State College Football Predictions: Week 11
I went 5-1 last week to push my record to 43-6 for the year. This week may be the calm before the storm of rivalry games and the Division II playoffs.
Here we go...
Maryland (2-7) at Michigan State (8-1) -- noon, Saturday, Spartan Stadium, East Lansing -- Sparty is till smarting form last week's frustrating loss at Nebraska where they blew a 12 point lead in the final minutes. That's not gonna happen this week. MSU 43, Maryland 20
Michigan (7-2) at Indiana (4-5) -- 3:30pm, Saturday, Memorial Stadium, Bloomington, IN -- An obvious trap game for the Wolverines before heading off to Penn State to try and lock up a top three finish in the Big Ten East. We'll find out the difference between last year's model of Wolverine, which would have folded up like a cheap suit against the newer, better Harbaugh brand. Michigan 27, Indiana 22
Central Michigan (5-5) at Kent State (3-7) -- 8:00pm, Wednesday, November 18, Dix Stadium, Kent, OH -- The Chippewas have only a possible bowl berth to play after getting tossed out of the MAC West title chase by Toledo. The Chips know that finishing 7-5 is the only sure way to assure a bowl bid, 6-6 may not do it. Central is best controlling the game early, hopefully they'll do that against the Golden Flashes. CMU 20, Kent 17
Western Michigan (6-4) at Northern Illinois (7-3) -- 8:00pm Wednesday, November 18, Brigham Field, DeKalb, IL -- Western has to defeat the two teams they're tied with atop the MAC West standings in successive weeks on the road to earn a trip to Detroit for the MAC Cahmpionship game. That might be asking too much. WMU 30, NIU 27
Saginaw Valley (1-9) at Grand Valley (8-2) -- 1:00pm Saturday, Lubbers Stadium, Allendale -- It's this simple, if the Lakers win they're in the playoffs, if they lose, they're out. Despite the Cardinals weak record, this is a huge rivalry and Saginaw Valley would love nothing better than to knock Grand Valley out. It won't happen. GVSU 47, SVSU 10
Walsh (2-7) at Ferris State (9-0) -- noon, Saturday, Taggert Field, Big Rapids -- Ferris has clinched a playoff bid, and is currently ranked second in the nation. This is merely a practice game before the big show starts next week. Ferris 54, Walsh 7
