The Detroit Tigers and West Michigan Whitecaps announced today that it has agreed to a two-year extension of its player development contract. The agreement will keep Detroit Tigers prospects playing at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park through the 2020 season. Tigers Director of Minor League Operations Dan Lunetta said that moving forward with the Whitecaps was an easy decision.

Remember Brandon Inge? The former West Michigan Whitecap and Detroit Tiger favorite, who has also played for the Oakland A's and now the Pittsburgh Pirates, still has many fans in Michigan.

It's true. Brandon Inge is playing for the Tigers main Minor League team the Toledo MudHens. Instead of retiring, or being traded, the Tigs sent him down to the farm to try and correct his .177 batting average. So they can trade him or ask him to retire.
