It's another One Hit Wonder Wednesday Night on the Night Shift with Craig Allen starting at 7PM on 98.7 WFGR.

We've been traveling through the '80s and highlighting the one hit wonders of the decade. Tonight we make our second to last stop featuring the year 1988.

WHEN IN ROME – THE PROMISE: This English Electronic-Dance band hit #11 in September of 1988. "When In Rome" is a great phrase and meaning you follow the lead of the people who live there and I would say after visiting Rome they know how to enjoy their lives.

JOHNNY HATES JAZZ – SHATTERED DREAMS: C'mon on Johnny - what's so bad about jazz? This is our second English trio of the night and this pop band reached #3 in March. Oh so close to having a number one.

BOBBY McFERRIN – DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY: Bobby won a Grammy for this inspirational positive message of a song. What you probably didn't know he was a studio singer and was the voice of a Levi's Blue Jeans 501 jingle and sang one of the theme songs for The Cosby Show.

WILL TO POWER – BABY I LOVE YOUR WAY/FREEBIRD MEDLEY (FREE BABY): Will To Power, a pop trio from Florida, turned a mashup into a hit song long before Kid Rock did his mash up of "Free Bird"/"Werewolves of London" with his song "All Summer Long". Their mashup is Baby I Love your Way from Peter Frampton and Free Bird again from Lynyrd Skynyrd. They did another remake in the '90s from 10CC "I'm Not In Love" I posted that video, too - it's a cool version.

JOHNNY KEMP – JUST GOT PAID: Johnny is from the Bahamas, but was raised in Harlem, NYC. His first song reached gold in sales with over 500,000 copies sold. Love the line "it's Friday night, I just got paid" - we can all relate to that.
