Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Joan Jett will make a guest appearance on Denis Leary’s upcoming series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.

“I knew Joan because we had done some concerts together for the Michael J. Fox Foundation,” Leary told EW Live. “I had met Joan there many times. She’s a good actress, obviously, she’s very busy. But I just thought this is kind of perfect. She agreed to do it.”

Jett will appear in the series’ third episode, in which Denis' character, an aging rock star whose career flamed out in the 90s, is the subject of an internet death hoax.

Leary created and produced the the series, which is on FX, the same network that aired Leary's last creation, Rescue Me, about New York City firefighters in the wake of 9/11. That series won both critical and popular accolades during its seven season ruyn on the network.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll premieres Thursday, July 16th on FX. Here's the trailer and some clips from the show.
