Ron Artest, an NBA Player for the Los Angeles Lakers, is an interesting guy. And when I say "interesting", I really mean "A nut job". Artest, who's best know as the guy who went into the crowd after a fan 6 years ago in Detroit, is going in front of the LA Superior Court to legally change his name....

Think Chad Ochocinco, or the most famous sports name change-World B. Free. Yes, Ron Artest wants to change his name to...."Metta World Peace". Really. "Metta", according to this Yahoo Sports story "Ron Artest is petitioning to change his name to ‘Metta World Peace’ " "Metta" is a word derived from the Buddhist religion and the Sanskrit language meaning "friendliness," "benevolence" and all manner of other heartwarming descriptions. The name on the back of his jersey this year could be "Peace"

Like in most things, you can't make this up. If nothing, Artest keeps his name in the headlines. Where is Ochocinco playing this year? I don't remember....
