We all know that Grand Rapids is Beer City, USA. Sadly, it was recently announced that the annual Beer City USA poll has closed. So, now what? Now, Grand Rapids is celebrating Beer City Week!

We live in Beer City USA. It's no surprise that if you have a hankering for a beer of some sort and you are over 21, you can find it. Almost everywhere. It's kind of like finding slot machines anywhere in Las Vegas. The reality is you can find good craft beer options almost anywhere in Grand Rapids. And now the folks at Kent District Library can help you in the making of beer.

Looking for a perfect gift for the beer lover in your life? We DO live in Beer City USA remember? I was watching this show on the DIY network last night and the show "I Want That" The show highlights high end products for around the house. Usually all the products are a little out of my price range or my lack of snobbyness.

It makes sense, since we ARE in Beer City USA, that we talk about which restaurant chain serves the most beer in the country. You would think it might be easy to figure out. Which has the most locations or has the biggest beer reputation. Not so fast there Encyclopedia Brown.

Last year, Grand Rapids had to share the title of Beer City, USA with Asheville, North Carolina. This year, we didn't feel like sharing and after all 50,000 votes were tallied by the folks at Examiner.com, Grand Rapids came out on top. We are, once again (and this time without having to share), Beer City, USA!

Starting today you can vote Grand Rapids as "Beer City USA" and help keep the title in West Michigan! This year we are up against Asheville North Carolina and Michigan cities Kalamazoo and Ann Arbor. Now those are perfectly nice towns and all, but come on. WE are Beer City USA....Vote early and Vote often!
