There are lots of superhero franchises that have been consistently making movies and products for years and I don't see that slowing down anytime soon.

Obviously, Superman and Batman are two of the oldest and longest-running superheroes with movies and merchandise. We can't leave out Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, The Avengers, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, Justice League, and I'm sure the superhero nerds will point out the ones I missed.

What is so crazy is that these billion-dollar movie franchises all started from comic books. I'm sure the writers and illustrators of these books didn't see that coming 50 or more years ago.

 #3 The Dark Night

The Dark Night came out in 2008 and starred Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman. This is still one of my personal favorites and apparently a lot of other Michiganders as well. This movie also had the late Heath Ledger as the Joker who was certainly one of the best at playing the role. The Dark Night gets nearly 450,000 searches a month and is considered by some as the best of the best of Batman movies.
