With No Big 10 Football, Adopt a College Football Team: AAC
I still can't believe that there will be no football in the state of Michigan as the Big Ten postponed its season to spring. Was really looking forward to seeing Michigan - Michigan State even if the game was going to be moved to the Big House.
We want to watch Football on Saturdays. But who do we root for? Other conferences will be playing including the Big 12, SEC, ACC and the AAC. Who is the AAC? that stands for American Athletic Conference and was created after the Big East split. There are 11 teams that you can root for this Fall. Maybe you choose a team because you vacation in Florida, so you could choose USF in Tampa or UCF in Orlando. Or maybe you think their mascot is cute.
Summary: You may have not even known about the AAC conference or mistook it for the ACC which we'll cover next week. But there are some good teams with two rated in the AP Top 25 - that's UCF and Cincy so those are good teams to adopt for winners.
Best mascots include PeeDee The Pirate of East Carolina and Rocky the Bull of USF. And watch out for Peruna the Pony from SMU - besides killing another mascot it also had one other crazy story trying to mount the horse from Texas Tech.
And remember - at least we're going to get to see some college football on Saturday. Thank God!
