January 7, 2013 You can talk and ask questions to Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell on the first Monday of every month on his GRTV show City Connection! The Mayor has really upped his online presence in the past couple of years. First by joining Facebook, then Twitter, now with his TV show he's really stepped it up melding all the social and traditional media. Way to go Mr. Mayor!

January 7, 2013 WZZM is reporting a potential standoff near Breton between Boston and Maplewood in East Grand Rapids. "Police crews are on the scene of a standoff in East Grand Rapids. Dispatch tells WZZM that a suicidal man has barricaded himself inside the home on Breton Avenue between Burton and Hall Street SE. Breton Downs Elementary is near the scene and is now closed for the day.
