Holy crap! I knew the Simpsons was TV longest running scripted show, having been a staple on the FOX lineup for 23 seasons. It passes Gunsmoke's 20 seasons a couple years back. But what I didn't realize that Springfield's most famous yellow family is ready to air it's 500th episode Sunday night. 500 episodes! D'oh! Mmmmmmmm.... longevity....
